The pastel vibes are full on with this Pastel Plant Pals workshop! All my favourite colours and materials feature in this workshop. There’s so many plant pals for you to make, and layer in the way you want to make dainty studs or large statement earrings and brooches (or pins for the cool kids).

I’ve designed varieties of swiss cheese monstera, ficus elastica, monstera deliciosa, birds nest ferns, calathea ornata, philodendron pink princess and even some succulents — I couldn’t resist, they’re just all too pretty! Oh boy, I’ve learned so much about plants in the research phase of designing these. It’s crazy how many species of Ficus there are!

Date: Sunday 10th of June, 2018

Time: 9:30am to 12pm

Location: TBA

What you’ll make:

  • You’ll receive a base kit to make three pairs of earrings, and one brooch

  • You’ll be able to choose from many designs

  • You’ll be able to customise them with the way you layer, connect and paint them — yes, there’s details to paint fill if you wish!

What you’ll learn:

  • You’ll learn how to choose colours and materials to contrast and complement each other

  • You’ll learn how to connect acrylic pieces with metal findings

  • You’ll learn paint fill in the etched detail on the acrylic

  • You’ll learn fun facts about plants, because I have so many whizzing around in my head

These workshops are for people who want to make gifts for friends and pretties for yourself. It’s going to be a super fun time.

Not crafty or creative? Perfect, it’ll be awesome to make something with your own hands and prove to yourself you are creative — everyone has it in them. I have heaps of inspiration to share with you during the workshop, so don’t fret!

Not an earring wearer? That’s sweet, I’ve got you covered. I have some awesome brooch / pin designs to make with you. You could also gift earrings to a friend, so have a think before you arrive.

Not able to make this workshop? Let me know by messaging my Facebook page, and I’ll let you know if more are released.

About Alex, your workshop host:

I’ve been teaching craft workshops from card making, invitation making, and scrapbooking for children and adults since I was 13. Now that I’m a graphic designer and work with the amazing Vector Etch team, I’ve developed skills in laser cutting and jewellery design. With this new found love of jewellery design, I’m so keen to get back into hosting workshops, as seeing people gain skills to create awesome things with their own hands is super rewarding.

What plant pals will you create? Looking forward to seeing what you will make.
